About The Cotton Team

Rich Cotton

RICH COTTON, a long time resident of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, was

raised in the Rose Tree/Media area of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

He was drawn to the Chesapeake Bay area by his love of the water, and his

many wonderful boyhood memories of summer vacations on the Shore. The

hours spent boating, crabbing and swimming led him to see the Bay area as

a safe, fun and nurturing place to raise his family.

In 1988, Rich decided to make a career change. His experience with his

father’s real estate company and the love of the Chesapeake created the

foundation for this new career.

Rich has always believed that if you love what you do, success will

follow. Not seeing himself as a “traditional REALTOR®”, Rich counted on

his ability to help people find the “right place,” and then the home would

sell itself. With this as his goal, he decided to narrow his focus and become

a specialist dealing with Waterfront Properties on the Upper Bay.

Rich’s beliefs have proven to be true. Regardless of market conditions,

Rich successfully helps sellers and buyers of Waterfront Properties get

together! He is recognized for his knowledge, dedication and ability to get

the job done.

Warmth, enthusiasm and casual style have become Rich’s trademark.

He works with many people, sometimes for years, helping them find that

“Special Place” which will be the focal point for many fond memories. He

understands that this process must be personalized to each individual.

Continuing education is also a part of Rich’s approach. Working with

sophisticated buyers and sellers requires staying ahead of changing laws

pertaining to use and development of Waterfront Property.

Rich opened the first EXIT franchise in the state of Maryland, EXIT

Realty Chesapeake Bay. Their business plan brings to the marketing

of Waterfront Properties, a sophistication and technological edge that will

set the standard in the industry.
